What are the new features?
In File Explorer, the icons are now smaller and look nicer. There is a mute button to mute the microphone centrally for all applications. This is useful if you are participating in a video conference and may have several applications open – then the microphone is muted centrally. Another new feature of Windows 11 Pro is that if you're working with external monitors on your laptop, or if you have two monitors connected to your desktop computer, applications will reopen exactly where they were before you shut down or exited. This is also a significant improvement over Windows 10.
Installing Android applications with Windows 11 Pro – What are the advantages?
You can switch from your mobile phone to your desktop, because then you can install the applications you know from Android phones on Windows. Some applications are only available for Android, but not for Windows. So it's a practical matter. There is only one catch: iPhone users, i.e. the Apple world, do not benefit from this, because Apple keeps shutting down its applications and hiding them behind an artificial wall in its app store, so to speak.
Important note:
Windows 10 and Windows 11 Pro will continue to run in parallel. Windows 10 will be supported until October 2025. This is probably also because Windows 11 Pro increases the hardware requirements. If your system isn't ready for Windows 11 Pro, you're still a few years old. Even if you don't like the look of Windows 11 Pro, you can just stick with Windows 10. It's not yet clear whether Microsoft will continue to release two feature updates a year for Windows 10. In any case, Windows 10 21H2 should be available in the fall, and of course there will be a security update every day.
